BT/RBT Position

Position:

The Behavior Technician (BT) position requires empathy, imagination, flexibility, enjoyment, and critical thinking. This position calls for commitment and dedication to our clients, and high standards of excellence.

BTs provide direct one-on-one therapy with children in their home, clinic, school, or community. Each individualized program is written and designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for the BT to implement. The BCBA will teach you to the ropes to strengthen language, social interactions, independent living skills, and other aptitudes of our clients. BCBAs will supervise you and provide you the tools and knowledge needed to provide the best quality service to the ones we serve.

Behavior Technicians typically start with a part-time caseload of approximately 6-12 hours per week, depending on region, and may grow to full-time as additional opportunities arise.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide intensive one-on-one therapy to children with ASD

  • Implement behavior acquisition and behavior reduction plans as outlined by BIP

  • Enthusiastically motivate clients to engage in the sessions

  • Adhere to the ethical guidelines of Blue Hearts ABA Services and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

  • Accurately collect data to ensure the effective treatment

  • Communicate proactively and timely with BCBAs and caregivers, and legal guardians

  • Calmly respond to unexpected behaviors appropriately

  • Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines

  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor degree preferred

  • Experience with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Ability to commit to at least six months of employment without significant changes in schedule or location

  • Sit for the RBT exam within the timeframe given

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must pass a background check to provide healthcare services

  • Physical requirements, which includes, but is not limited to: lifting at least 50lbs, kneeling, bending, finger dexterity, climbing, reaching, running, and being on your feet for several hours at a time
